DAY THREE SUNDAY 24 MAY
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
‘Close your eyes to all the noises of the world, enter into your soul, then say’:
O Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I adore you. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, console me. Tell me what I should do; give me your orders. I promise to submit myself to all that you desire of me; and to accept all that you permit to happen to me. Let me only know your will.
3 Come, of comforters the best,
Of the soul the sweetest guest,
Come in toil refreshingly:
Live up to your calling! Ephesians 4.1-6, 15-16
I beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
Speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knitted together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.
Reflection and Response
The Holy Spirit has a direct relationship with love: it is through the Holy Spirit that God’s love is poured into our hearts’ (Rom 5:5). St Augustine said, ‘If you see acts of charity, you see the Trinity … the Spirit moves believers to love others as Christ loved them’.
R./ Renew your wonders, Lord, in the Church of today, and in each one of us, ‘as by a new Pentecost’. Lord, hear my prayer.

O Heavenly King, O Advocate, Spirit of Truth, you who are everywhere present, filling all things; Treasury of blessings, and Giver of life; come and dwell in us, cleanse us from all impurity, and, O Good One, save our souls. Amen.
