New Team Vicar wanted for the Staveley and Barrow Hill Team Ministry (Diocese of Derby)

2nd Jun 2014

The Team Rector, Fr Stephen Jones, and the Parish Representatives write:  “Following Fr David Teasdel’s appointment as Priest-in-Charge of Altofts and Sharlston (Diocese of Leeds), we are awaiting the priest God is calling to be our Team Vicar.

We need the ministry of a priest who will support the Catholic tradition of our parish, and be comfortable working in a Forward in Faith parish under the extended episcopal oversight of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet.   He will work closely and collaboratively with others, with confidence enough to bring his own initiative and vision to the tasks in hand, and will have the kind of humour that will recommend him to the down-to-earth north midlands working class community we serve – someone who, from his life of prayer, will bring fresh thinking and real energy to the evangelisation of Staveley, helping us to shape and implement our Mission Action Plan.   We know that different candidates will bring different gifts to the task, and we will be happy to use different strengths in the best ways.  Are you possibly that priest?”

New Priest-in-Charge wanted for St Peter and the Holy Apostles Plymouth (Diocese of Exeter)

2nd Jun 2014

The Parish Representatives write:  “Following Fr Sam Philpott’s retirement from long and widely appreciated service here over many years we are now eagerly looking forward to the next phase in our life together as a mission community.

We know that buildings are important; we know that money matters, and that the Mass matters very much indeed;  but we know that mission and growth in discipleship matters most.  And for that we need the focusing presence and ministry of an experienced, energetic and outgoing priest:  someone who will support the Catholic traditions that so enrich our parish, and be comfortable working in a Forward in Faith parish under the extended episcopal oversight of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet;  who is an evangelizer and a man of prayer and the sacraments;  and who will help us to play our full part in the life and structures of our Diocese, and contribute to serving our growing and fast-changing city especially its young people.  For the right priest this parish promises real fulfilment as well as challenge:  are you that priest?  We hope you’ll think hard about it …”
