Vicar (Interim Basis), St Oswald's, Tile Hill
11th Mar 2019
We are seeking a Society priest, or a priest who is willing to sign up to The Society for the parish of Tile Hill in the Coventry Diocese - a parish with huge potential for community regeneration initiatives.
In particular, the parish seeks a priest who is:
Bishop Jonathan writes:
The task within the parish, is that of a shared one - between the new parish priest and the worshipping congregation and is full of opportunities to be seized, opportunities that are linked to renewing parish life and mission overall, renewing worship and discipleship, mission and evangelisation, all in a Catholic and sacramental key.
Our aim is that after three years, St Oswald's will be able to tell a story about how a Eucharistic community is built in a way that transforms the possibilities for all around it, not just for itself, about how barriers are broken down and people discover common vision and common purpose in Christ.
The tapestry that dominates the sanctuary of the church is of St King Oswald and his inspired choice as missionary bishop, St Aiden. Providentially, Oswald's exile in Ireland made him the perfect translator for the preaching of Aiden and his fellow monks until they had mastered English. Are you the priest who can translate the Gospel to the people of Tile hill, and help them respond. We hope that you are.
